Under promise and over deliver. To most it just seems like a cliche of good customer service. However, when you really think about it, what it really does is sets the expectations for future relations.
Wouldn’t it be nice to be considered as the person who gets things done? The one who stepped up to the plate and hit it out of the park? The one who people can refer and know that you wont be letting their friends and family down.
It’s as simple as this…
When you set a deadline for a client. Just make sure you get the thing done earlier. If you promise to get back to them by Friday, call them on Wednesday. If you promise to get some information to them by 5pm. Get back to them at noon. It doesn’t have to be rocket science. It’s just that you have to be mindful of what YOU are saying.
If you can get into the habit of delivering the goods earlier than later, than you will be looked to as a super star. The one that not only comes through but exceeds all expectations. This will build Trust quickly. Once trust is established, then moving the client forward to a sale will be much easier.
Just be mindful of what you are about to say. Don’t promise something and say later, what was I thinking? Choose your words carefully and follow through. It’s as simple as that. If you have to give your self a little more time to ensure you can get it done on time then do it! Give yourself a little bit of a buffer.
Keep this tip in mind and you will be thought of as the Real Estate Professional that always does what they say they will.
